Rachael Riney, middle, holds back tears as her mother, Sherry Bailey, left, applies antibiotic cream to her burned hand December 22, 2015 during her shift at the Sparta, Illinois Hardees. While working, Rachael had spilled scalding hot water on her hand but was not released by management until Cassandra King, right, pressured them to send her home so she could go to the hospital. She was treated for burns that took weeks to heal. For a short time, Sherry and Rachael both held jobs at Hardees, but after too many missed shifts and problems with management, they both were either let go or had quit. Sherry later got a temp job with TG’s Missouri, their first bit of good luck in weeks.
